We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to provide tailored 1:1 support for a primary-aged pupil with Special Educational Needs (SEN) at a highly regarded school in Woking. This is a full-time, long-term position commencing this September.

The Role
This 1:1 position is designed for a specialist who can build a strong, trusting relationship with a student while delivering targeted academic and emotional support. Your responsibilities will include:
* 1:1 Academic Support – Implementing a tailored Individual Education Plan (IEP) or Education, Health, and Care Plan (EHCP) to help the pupil access the curriculum.
* Behavioral & Emotional Mentoring – Using positive reinforcement and calming strategies to manage social or emotional barriers to learning.
* Resource Adaptation – Creating or modifying learning materials (e.g., visual timetables, chunked instructions) to suit the pupil's specific learning style.
* Collaboration & Communication – Liaising daily with the class teacher, SENCo, and parents to track progress and adjust support strategies.
* Social Inclusion – Encouraging the student to interact positively with peers during group work and break times.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a practitioner who is resilient, patient, and deeply committed to student advocacy. Specifically, you should possess:
* SEN Experience – Proven experience supporting children with needs such as Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH, or Speech and Language difficulties (SLCN).
* Relevant Qualifications – A Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable, though graduates with a relevant background are encouraged to apply.
* Interpersonal Skills – An ability to build rapport quickly with children and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
* Patience and Resilience – A calm demeanor and the ability to stay composed and supportive during challenging moments.
* Relevant School Experience – Prior experience in a primary school setting is essential for this 1:1 role.
