We are pleased to offer an exciting opportunity for Sonographers to join our friendly, passionate, and supportive team.
We are expanding our team to support the newly opened Newmarket Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Newmarket Community Hospital. This is a great opportunity to work in a new centre equipped with state-of-the-art technology in a bright, spacious, and welcoming environment.
The successful candidate(s) will be based at Newmarket CDC, with opportunities to rotate to West Suffolk Hospital and other community sites. The Ultrasound Department offers flexible working arrangements; both full-time and part-time hours will be considered. We are working towards 8-8, 7-day working at the CDC and the wider ultrasound department.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, diligent, and committed to providing excellent patient care. You will be responsible for obtaining high-quality ultrasound images and diagnostic reports within hospital and community settings.
This is an exciting time to join the West Suffolk Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, participating in planning our new hospital (Future System Programme). We also collaborate with other hospitals within our ICS and regional Trusts on Imaging Networks.
Main duties of the job
1. Producing high-quality ultrasound images and diagnostic reports autonomously.
2. Maintaining high standards within the ultrasound team.
3. Training and supervising staff, including supporting new staff during induction.
4. Teaching and promoting awareness of policies and protocols.
5. Participating in and supporting the governance programme, including ultrasound audits.
6. Engaging in the ultrasound QA programme.
7. Managing departmental administration and organization with senior staff.
8. Caring for patients throughout their ultrasound appointments, respecting dignity and addressing physical, emotional, psychological, and spiritual needs.
9. Ensuring all mandatory training is current.
10. Performing tasks delegated by the Service Manager.
