Public Protection Service – Food Safety Officer
We at Wiltshire Council are looking for a qualified Environmental Health Practitioner registered with the Environmental Health Officers Registration Board (EHORB) to join our Food and Safety Team within the Public Protection Service. The role involves inspecting food premises, leading investigations and providing expert advice to a wide range of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
* Carry out inspections of food premises across Wiltshire.
* Lead investigations and report findings.
* Provide expert advice on food safety, health and safety, and infectious disease control.
* Mentor junior officers and contribute to service development.
* Represent the council in formal settings.
Qualifications
* Qualified Environmental Health Practitioner registered with EHORB.
* Completed Portfolio of Professional Practice, or close to finishing.
* Strong foundation in food safety enforcement, health and safety, and infectious disease control.
* Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
* Experience with high‑risk food processes or mentoring is an advantage.
