A unique opportunity has become available in the Legal Team in NHS Tayside due to the retirement of the current postholder. This is a busy, varied and rewarding role that will suit a professional who thrives in these conditions.
The team manages the investigation and progression of all claims in conjunction with NHS National Services Scotland Central Legal Office (Litigation) acting on behalf of NHS Tayside. It is involved in the progression of Fatal Accident Inquiries and provides a professional litigation advice and support service on personal injury and medical negligence claims to Tayside Health Board. The Team Manager is the principal contact and liaison between the Board and the CLO.
It also provides a dedicated witness support service to all staff involved in litigation and to staff involved in other legal matters, where possible.
Responsibilities
* Provide specialist advice on litigation to the Board
* Provide a witness support service to all staff
* Deliver training and awareness sessions across the organisation
* Lead on the Continuing Professional Development of the Legal Team
Qualifications
* Relevant legal qualification
* Experience in claims handling
* Experience in managing staff
You will be required to achieve the mandatory Induction standards for Healthcare Support Workers in Scotland and to comply with the Code of Conduct throughout your employment.
Hours of work are: 37 hrs per week.
