As a Senior Quantity Surveyor, you will be a key figure in providing expert cost and commercial advice to clients. You'll be responsible for managing all financial aspects of projects, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest professional standards.
Key Responsibilities
* Cost Management: Prepare, manage, and monitor detailed cost plans, feasibility studies, and whole-life costing for a variety of projects.
* Contract Administration: Administer construction contracts, including the valuation of variations, interim payments, and the settlement of final accounts.
* Tender & Procurement: Lead on procurement strategies, prepare comprehensive tender documentation, and evaluate bids to ensure best value for clients.
* Risk Management: Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate commercial risks while identifying opportunities for project savings.
* Client Liaison: Act as a trusted commercial advisor, maintaining strong, effective relationships with clients, design teams, and contractors.
* Reporting: Prepare and present detailed and accurate cost reports and financial statements for senior stakeholders.
* Mentorship: Mentor and support junior members of the team, contributing to their professional development.
What You'll Bring
* Proven Experience: Demonstrable experience as a Quantity Surveyor, with a strong background in a UK-based consultancy.
* Commercial Acumen: Exceptional analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
* Contractual Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of standard forms of construction contracts (e.g., JCT, NEC) and their application.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate and influence stakeholders effectively.
* Qualifications: A relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or Construction Economics. Professional accreditation (e.g., RICS) is highly desirable and preferred.
