About the role


Imperial is seeking a Public Affairs Manager to help shape the university's voice in key public policy debates. You'll play a central role in delivering our public affairs strategy, building relationships with decision-makers and showcasing Imperial's impact across science, education and innovation.


What you would be doing


You will lead stakeholder engagement across government, Parliament and policy organisations, ensuring Imperial's research and strategic priorities are communicated effectively. Your work will include developing policy positions, producing briefings and reports, managing public affairs events, and gathering intelligence on the external policy landscape. You'll collaborate closely with colleagues across the Strategic Engagement Division and wider university to maintain and shape Imperial's influence and reputation.


What we are looking for

* Experience in public affairs, communications or policy engagement
* Strong understanding of the UK policy-making process, ideally in higher education or science
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Proven ability to manage stakeholder relationships, including at senior levels
* Strategic thinker with strong organisational and project management skills
* A proactive, collaborative and diplomatic approach

The role is a key member of Imperial's Public Affairs team in the Strategic Engagement divison which brings together Imperial's expertise in public affairs, policy engagement, international relations and institutional event management.
