-Purpose of the roleFinancial Crime Transformation Lead - responsible for enhancing the organization's financial crime risk management frameworks, designing technologies for customer onboarding, transaction monitoring, and ongoing client risk management, and ensuring compliance with financial crime regulations.AccountabilitiesLead the development and implementation of the Target Operating Model for financial crime.Design, develop, and formalize control frameworks and product documentation.Review and challenge operational and risk management commentary to ensure quality of delivery.Facilitate effective information flow across the organization and with IB.Manage internal information requests from stakeholders, including the business and second line of defense.Support the team in designing, risk managing, and overseeing outsourced financial crime controls, focusing on client experience, cost-efficiency, and automation/AI integration.Contribute to the IFC program, driving it forward as part of the transformation leadership.Director ExpectationsManage a business function, contributing to strategic initiatives and policy development. Lead or significantly contribute to complex, organization-wide projects.Lead a large team or sub-function, fostering a performance-driven culture, or act as a technical expert leading organization-wide projects, training and guiding less experienced staff.Provide strategic advice to senior management and committees, influencing decisions beyond the immediate function.Oversee resourcing, budgeting, and policy creation for a significant sub-function.Ensure compliance with policies and regulations, escalating breaches appropriately.Monitor and influence external regulatory and advocacy groups as appropriate.Possess extensive knowledge of industry practices and external market developments.Apply advanced analytical and interpretative skills to solve complex problems.Make strategic decisions within their area of authority.Negotiate and influence stakeholders internally and externally.Serve as a principal contact for key clients and partners.Act as a spokesperson for the function and division.All senior leaders are expected to embody the LEAD behaviors: Listen and be authentic, Energize and inspire, Align across the enterprise, and Develop others.All colleagues should demonstrate the Barclays Values—Respect, Integrity, Service, Excellence, and Stewardship—and the Barclays Mindset—Empower, Challenge, and Drive.
