We are looking for a Digital Hardware Design Engineer to join our team. Our UK operations support European customers and focus on developing advanced space sensors and communication technologies. As we expand, we seek ambitious professionals to help us push the boundaries of space exploration.
Responsibilities
* Develop FPGA/ASIC-based satellite telecommunication payloads, instruments, and sensors as part of a multidisciplinary team
* Lead and mentor hardware engineering team members
* Manage hardware product development lifecycle, including specification, design, and testing
* Integrate SoC IP and firmware
* Design detailed circuits, including schematic capture, component selection, and simulation
* Conduct engineering analyses such as derating, reliability, radiation, EMI/EMC, and power budgeting
* Support hardware/software/system integration, testing, validation, and qualification
* Coordinate PCB layout design with internal and third-party teams
* Deliver prototypes and manufacturing packages
Required Skills and Qualifications
* 5-8+ years in hardware product design
* Hands-on experience with AMD SoCs/FPGAs and firmware integration
* Design of high-speed, complex, multi-layer PCBs (10+ layers)
* Proficiency with circuit and PCB design/simulation tools (e.g., LTSpice, Allegro, ADS, Hyperlynx, HFSS, CST)
* Experience with FPGA design using Verilog/VHDL
* Additional advantageous skills include:
o High-reliability design (space, military, automotive)
o RF design
o Mass manufacturing design
o DC/DC power supply design
o Knowledge of environmental, thermal, safety, EMI/EMC standards
o Practical scripting skills (Tcl, Python, Perl)
