Religious Studies Teacher Location: Erdington Start Date: Septmber 2025 Salary: MPS/UPS (Dependent on experience) About the role: A vibrant secondary school in Erdington is seeking a knowledgeable and inspiring Religious Studies Teacher to join its humanities department. The successful candidate will foster curiosity, respect and critical thinking, helping students to explore religious, ethical and philosophical issues in a diverse and inclusive environment. Role Responsibilities: Plan and deliver engaging Religious Studies lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 (KS5 desirable). Encourage open discussion, respectful debate and reflective thinking. Use varied teaching strategies to support learners of all abilities. Assess, track and monitor student progress, providing constructive feedback. Contribute to the development of curriculum resources and schemes of work. Promote the school’s ethos of tolerance, understanding and respect. Support whole-school activities and enrichment programmes linked to RS and humanities. Role Requirements: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification. Degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy or a related subject. UK-based teaching experience and familiarity with the national curriculum. An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the Update Service. Excellent communication, organisation and classroom management skills.
