Hardware Design Engineer

We are recruiting for a Hardware Design Engineer to join a well-established engineering business based near Salisbury. This is a hands-on role where the Hardware Design Engineer will work across new product development, hardware design, testing, and prototyping as part of a small but highly capable engineering team.
As a Hardware Design Engineer, you will be involved from concept through to production, designing reliable, high quality electronic hardware for a range of precision products. You will work closely with firmware, software and mechanical engineers, gaining exposure to the full design lifecycle and seeing your work go straight into real-world applications.

Role overview
Analogue and digital circuit design, including signal conditioning, sensor interfaces and control circuitry
PCB design and layout using Altium or similar tools
Hardware and firmware integration, working closely with embedded engineers
Hardware testing, debugging, validation and supporting compliance activity
Prototyping and hands-on development in the electronics lab
Working with software, mechanical and operations teams to support full product delivery
Identifying opportunities for improvements, new design approaches and future development work
Skills and experience
Previous experience as a Hardware Design Engineer or a similar electronics based role
Strong analogue, digital or mixed signal design background
Proficiency with PCB design tools such as Altium, KiCad or OrCAD
Understanding of microcontrollers, embedded systems and communication interfaces
Good awareness of EMC practice, testing and product reliability
Comfortable taking designs from concept through to test and validation
