Veterinary Surgeon Full Time Leominster, Herefordshire

A well-established, semi-rural veterinary practice in the scenic market town of Leominster is seeking a confident and skilled Veterinary Surgeon with a surgical focus to join its large, collaborative team. Situated in beautiful Herefordshire, with additional opportunities to work occasionally at a nearby practice in Ludlow, this role offers a perfect balance of clinical challenge, mentorship, and lifestyle.
The successful candidate will join a highly experienced team comprising several vets, 9 nurses, and 8 reception/admin professionals. With a varied caseload and a strong support system, the role allows the vet to focus fully on delivering exceptional care to clients and their petswithout the distractions of on‑call or bank holiday commitments.
Working Pattern:
Full‑time: 40 hours per week
1 in 6 Saturdays (no on‑call or bank holidays)
Flexible and part‑time options will be considered
What the Role Involves:
* Performing surgical procedures and consultations to a high clinical standard
* Communicating clearly with clients and providing excellent patient updates
* Creating tailored treatment plans with transparent costings
* Participating in clinical handovers and ensuring continuity of care
* Collaborating with colleagues across two practices for integrated team support
* Sharing and promoting clinical best practices
* Supporting and mentoring colleagues where needed
Candidate Requirements:
* RCVS‑registered Veterinary Surgeon
* Confident in soft tissue and routine surgeries
* Experienced in collaborative, team‑based veterinary environments
* Committed to delivering a high standard of care to patients and clients
* Familiar with nurse consults and Schedule 3 procedures
* Keen to work in a supportive setting with mentorship opportunities
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
