Join to apply for the Quality Matron role at North Cumbria Integrated Care NHS Foundation Trust.
The Quality Matron will ensure the highest standard of safe clinical care through leadership and management of clinical staff. S/he will embed learning across the Trust, provide a visible and authoritative presence in the hospital environment, and ensure patients and their families and multidisciplinary team members can gain appropriate assistance, advice and support. The Quality Matron will respond to enquiries from relatives/carers and other organisations, address concerns, and actively problem-solve to improve the patient experience, investigate and respond to incidents and complaints within target timescales. They will share responsibility with the Collaborative team for Clinical Governance and support research and development as required, facilitating an evidence-based culture. They will be responsible, in conjunction with Collaborative lead nurses, Lead Matrons, Deputy Chief Nurse (operations), Deputy Chief Nurse (Governance) & Executive Chief Nurse, for the implementation of the nursing and midwifery strategy.
Responsibilities
* Provide professional and clinical leadership to a group of wards and departments, including supportive advice and understanding of the activity associated with patient care.
* Take responsibility for the components of the Clinical Governance agenda.
* Continue development and re-organisation of services with a patient-focused approach utilising pathways of care.
* Be responsible for all registered and unregistered staff, including bank and agency, in your area of responsibility.
* Be professionally responsible for delivering a high-quality safe service for patients and carers.
* Advise on and contribute to achievement of national and local performance targets within area.
* Work with partner organisations and advise on service developments that affect patient care.
* Act as a role model for ward and departmental teams and encourage recruitment and retention of staff.
* Facilitate the development of clinical practice by providing clinical and nursing leadership.
* Co-ordinate and chair meetings with patients/relatives/complainants who are upset or at risk, acting as a mediator to resolve issues and implement action plans.
* Provide leadership creating a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
