NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde, one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK, is seeking an experienced Consultant Cardiologist for a 1‑year fixed‑term locum position to cover maternity leave at Queen Elizabeth University Hospital.
Shift pattern for this post is 40 hours per week over 7 days, with an on‑call commitment.
Responsibilities
* Lead an established consultant cardiology team at QEUH.
* Contribute to transthoracic and transoesophageal echo lists at QE.
* Support the in‑patient cardiology rota (CCU, general ward roles, weekend rota, out‑of‑hours on‑call).
Qualifications
* Full MRCP, GMC registration and licence to practise.
* Evidence of higher specialist training leading to CCT in Cardiology, or eligibility for specialist registration (CESR), or be within 6 months of confirmed entry from interview.
* Extensive training in general cardiology (equivalent training for non‑UK applicants).
* Interest and experience in echocardiography.
* Dual accreditation in GIM preferred but not essential.
