This role is part of a 24-month maximum term graduate program based primarily at the Division head office in Wahroonga NSW. It is full-time and ideally suited to someone looking to gain practical experience and full exposure to the Church’s accounting and finance related areas. It will include short placements within finance and accounting areas of the Church. Reporting directly to the Division Senior Accountant, this role requires someone with a passion for accounting and commitment to the mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. If you are looking to kick-start your accounting career within Adventist Employment and have recently completed your undergraduate degree, then this role could be for you! Selection Criteria: Essential • Practising baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to the teachings, values, beliefs and mission of the Church; • Tertiary undergraduate degree in accounting, business or commerce; • Competent written and verbal English language communication skills; • Demonstrate sound understanding of basic accounting practices and procedures; • Eligibility to hold a missionary licence with the Seventh-day Adventist Church; and • Eligibility to work in Australia full-time without restriction. Preferred • Ability to learn quickly and apply technological developments; • Ability to meet predetermined work deadlines; • Be computer literate and possess experience in the use of relevant computer based accounting package(s); and • An understanding of Australian Accounting Standards, Taxation Law, Corporate Law, Commercial and General Business Law.
