Purpose of job
The IT Business Relationship Manager (BRM) serves as the strategic and operational link between the UK business units and the global IT and Project Management Office (PMO). The role ensures that global IT strategies, programs, and innovations are understood, embraced, and effectively delivered at the local level. As the face of IT within the UK office, the IT BRM leads local implementation, represents regional business needs to global IT, and fosters collaboration between business stakeholders and technology teams. The ultimate objective is to maximise the value of technology in achieving corporate and regional business goals.
Principle responsibilities
Strategic Partnership & Planning
* Act as the primary IT liaison for UK business units, building strong, trust-based relationships.
* Support the adaptation and implementation of global IT strategies within the UK context.
* Lead annual and multiyear IT planning efforts with local stakeholders, ensuring alignment with corporate direction.
* Identify opportunities to leverage technology for operational efficiency, customer experience, and growth.
Project & Initiative Execution
* Oversee the local execution of IT projects and programs, ensuring alignment with global scope, standards, and timelines.
* Translate business needs into structured, well-defined project proposals and requirements.
* Coordinate with project teams, vendors, and IT functions to ensure successful delivery.
Operational Leadership
* Lead or coordinate UK-based IT team, ensuring focus, accountability, and delivery excellence.
* Act as an escalation point for local IT issues, project risks, and service concerns.
* Monitor and report on initiative performance and value realisation, conducting post-implementation reviews.
Communication & Change Management
* Develop and execute local communication strategies to support IT rollouts and organisational change.
* Translate technical concepts into accessible, business-friendly messages.
* Act as a change leader, helping business users navigate and adopt new systems or processes.
Governance & Compliance
* Ensure local IT activity adheres to global governance, compliance, and security policies.
* Participate in local steering groups, project boards, or governance forums as required.
