As a Registered Manager at Waythrough, you’ll oversee our Tameside Supported Housing Services, supporting adults with mental health needs to thrive in safe, recovery-focused settings. This is more than management – it’s an opportunity to make a lasting difference in people’s lives and shape high-quality, compassionate care.
About the Role
As Registered Manager, you will be responsible for the operational leadership of three supported housing projects in Tameside – Boston Bank House, Maple House and Manchester Road. Together, these services provide 24-hour support to men and women aged 18–65 with a mental health diagnosis.
You’ll ensure that every service is compliant with CQC regulations, that inspections achieve at least a “Good” rating, and that residents are supported towards independence. Success in this role means balancing excellent care, strong contract management, effective use of resources, and the development of a motivated, values-led team.
What You’ll Do
1. Lead, manage and inspire a team of up to 10 staff to deliver safe, person-centred support
2. Ensure compliance with CQC standards, health and safety, safeguarding, and Waythrough policies
3. Prepare services for inspection, aiming for a minimum “Good” rating
4. Manage budgets, contracts, and performance reporting effectively
5. Work closely with commissioners, stakeholders, and residents to deliver responsive, high-quality support
6. Drive service improvement and innovation based on feedback and best practice
7. Oversee staff development, supervision, and training to maintain professional standards
To Succeed in This Role, You’ll Need:
8. A relevant health or social care qualification (e.g. RMN, DipSW, NVQ Level 4/5 or equivalent)
9. Eligibility for CQC Registered Manager approval
10. Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and experience in Health and Social Care management
11. Experience managing budgets, contracts, and service performance
12. Ability to lead, motivate and supervise staff effectively
13. Excellent organisational, negotiation and problem-solving skills
14. A values-led approach, with the ability to build positive relationships with service users, families and professionals
About Waythrough
Waythrough was formed in 2024 following the merger of Humankind and Richmond Fellowship. Together, we’ve created one of the largest mental health and social support charities in England.
Every year, we support around 125,000 people through nearly 200 services – and it’s all made possible by our 3,500 brilliant staff and volunteers.
We’re in the process of integrating systems and processes across our newly merged organisation. That means some roles may still be branded ‘Humankind’ or appear on our partners’ job sites (such as Richmond Fellowship or Aquarius). This is a temporary step while we complete our transition.
