Our client, a long-established and highly regarded accountancy practice based in Shrewsbury, is looking to recruit an experienced Audit Manager to join their expanding team. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and technically strong professional to play a key role in the delivery of audit services and contribute to the continued success of the firm.
The Role:
The Audit Manager will take full ownership of a varied audit portfolio, managing client relationships and leading audit engagements from planning through to completion. Reporting directly to the partners, the Audit Manager will oversee a team of auditors and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and standards.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and manage multiple audit assignments across a broad client base
* Plan audits and allocate appropriate resources, ensuring high-quality delivery
* Supervise and review the work of junior auditors and support their development
* Act as the main point of contact for audit clients, providing clear and effective communication
* Provide technical guidance and support on complex audit and financial reporting issues
* Identify and pursue opportunities to enhance client relationships and cross-sell services
* Ensure audit files are completed in line with internal and external standards
The Ideal Candidate:
* ACA or ACCA qualified with strong post-qualification experience
* Currently operating at Audit Manager or Assistant Manager level within an accountancy practice
* Excellent technical knowledge of UK GAAP, IFRS, and auditing standards
* Confident in leading teams and managing client expectations
* Strong commercial awareness with a proactive approach to business development
* Professional, approachable, and committed to delivering exceptional client service
