We are currently looking for a Plating Technician to join our growing team.
In a nutshell, you will be responsible for:
Operating and maintaining electroplating equipment to apply finishes to metal components, ensuring quality and compliance with specifications.
What you are already great at:
* Monitoring and recording chemical process parameters.
* Recognising and reporting process variations, investigating causes, and implementing corrective actions.
* Producing and maintaining work instruction sheets.
* Conducting plant process and procedure audits.
* Carrying out routine plant maintenance.
* Analyzing line chemistry and making adjustments.
* Monitoring and reporting scrap rates and quality issues.
* Developing quality plans and performing visual and performance inspections.
* Undertaking laboratory analysis as needed.
* Liaising with external suppliers for maintenance and improvements.
* Resolving quality or production issues collaboratively.
* Conducting quality control inspections of plated components.
* Maintaining accurate process and chemistry records.
* Preparing components for plating, including cleaning and surface activation.
* Reporting skill or equipment failings.
* Disposing of waste safely and environmentally responsibly.
* Communicating effectively across teams.
* Ensuring compliance with procedures and suggesting improvements.
* Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
* Flexibility to cover holidays and occasional Saturday work for maintenance.
* Monitoring the Effluent Treatment Plant and water usage.
For this role, you should demonstrate:
* Experience in electroplating (a plus).
* Understanding of electroplating principles (preferred, willingness to learn is acceptable).
* Ability to follow detailed instructions and work precisely.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
* Good manual dexterity and coordination.
* Ability to work independently and in teams.
* Effective communication skills.
* Commitment to safety and environmental standards.
* Surface finishing experience (a plus).
