Job Title: Health and Safety Manager Location: South Yorkshire Employment Type: Full-Time / Permanent Sector: Engineering / Utilities / Industrial About the Role We are seeking an experienced and proactive Health and Safety Manager to lead and develop the health and safety function within a growing technical organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of H&S strategy, drive continual improvement, and lead the business towards ISO 45001 certification. The successful candidate will work closely with senior management and operational teams to promote a positive safety culture across both workshop and site environments. Key Responsibilities Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and systems aligned with ISO 45001 standards. Lead and coordinate the companys efforts to achieve and maintain ISO 45001 accreditation. Conduct regular audits, inspections, risk assessments, and incident investigations. Act as the key point of contact for all health and safety matters internally and externally. Provide strategic advice and hands-on support to operational and leadership teams. Promote a proactive safety culture through training, engagement, and awareness initiatives. Monitor and report on health and safety performance, identifying trends and opportunities for improvement. Stay up to date with health and safety legislation and ensure ongoing compliance. Key Requirements Essential: Proven experience in a health and safety management role within an engineering, utilities, or industrial environment. Minimum NEBOSH National General Certificate (or equivalent). Strong understanding of health and safety legislation, risk management, and audit processes. Confident communicator with the ability to influence and engage teams at all levels. Desirable: Experience working within the utilities or infrastructure sectors (e.g., water, gas, energy, power).
