Aqumen Recruitment is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in Hull for an experienced Tooling Technician to join their engineering team.

️ The Role
As a Tooling Technician, you’ll be responsible for ensuring moulds and tooling systems operate efficiently, safely, and reliably to support production performance.
Key responsibilities include:
Carrying out preventative and reactive maintenance on moulds and tooling equipment
Diagnosing and resolving tooling faults to minimise downtime
Supporting mould and die changeovers for production runs
Conducting root cause analysis on tooling issues
Maintaining accurate service and maintenance records
Supporting tooling trials for performance and durability testing
Working with external suppliers for tooling repair and modification
Ensuring compliance with safety, environmental, and quality standards
Assisting with continuous improvement initiatives across tooling processes
Supporting and guiding production teams on tooling best practice
What We’re Looking For
To be successful in this role, you’ll ideally have:
An apprenticeship in mechanical engineering, toolmaking, or manufacturing engineering
HNC / HND (or equivalent) in a relevant engineering discipline (desirable)
At least 3 years’ experience working with injection mould tooling
Strong experience dismantling, cleaning, and rebuilding complex mould tools
Knowledge of hot runner systems, hydraulic & pneumatic tooling components
Experience working within a toolroom or machining environment
Ability to interpret engineering drawings and tooling schematics
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
A proactive approach with excellent attention to detail
