Job Purpose
ioMosaic is seeking an experienced Senior Chemical/Process Engineer to join our Bath-based team. This role is for a technical leader who thrives on solving complex problems within the oil, gas, and petrochemical sectors. You will bridge the gap between high-level engineering calculations and client-facing project management, leading small teams of junior engineers to deliver world-class safety solutions.
Responsibilities
* Lead process design bases and perform detailed engineering calculations.
* Lead Pressure Relief and Flare Systems (PRFS) design and verification projects.
* Lead and participate in PHA, HAZOP, SIL/LOPA, and Incident Investigations.
* Strong understanding of API, ASME, and IEC standards to ensure design integrity and process safety.
* Audit Process Safety Management programs, identifying deficiencies and proposing practical, cost-effective mitigation and corrective measures.
* Manage the full project lifecycle, from writing proposals and interfacing with clients to mentoring junior technical staff.
* Represent ioMosaic by writing technical articles and presenting at industry conferences.
Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or higher in Chemical Engineering.
* Chartered or closely working towards chartership.
* 5+ years of demonstrable experience in industry, contracting, or consultancy with a proven track record in Flare and Relief Studies.
* Proficient in simulation software such as Aspen HYSYS, AFSA, FlareSIM, Phast, or ExSILentia; must be comfortable adopting proprietary tools like SuperChems.
* Strong attention to detail with the ability to interpret complex findings into clear, actionable recommendations.
* Exceptional verbal and written skills for client interfacing and proposal development.
* Must be legally eligible to work in Bahrain.
