Kingston Maternity Services is looking for Maternity Assistants to join our well established team. We are a friendly Maternity Unit and encourage learning within a supportive environment.
The post of Maternity Assistant Band 2 is within Kingston Hospital and Kingston and Richmond NHS Foundation Trust. The Care Quality Commission rated Kingston Hospital as good overall in 2022 with outstanding for well led. Kingston Maternity Services was rated as Good.

Responsibilities
* The midwifery assistant will be part of the multidisciplinary team in the clinical setting. The post holder is working under the direct/ indirect supervision of a midwife in providing a high quality service that meets the needs of women and their babies. They will contribute to ensuring a safe and clean working environment.
* The successful candidate will develop a sound knowledge base to support delivery of maternity care and successfully achieve Care Certificate usually within 12 weeks of their commencement in post.
* An understanding of the Trust values and the philosophy of our maternity department is important, as is the promotion of a positive image of the organisation, department and the service.
* You need to be able to work well in a team with the ability to manage and prioritise your own workload. You should have a proven track record of working without direct supervision. A good level of Maths and English is required. This role requires the post holder to work days, nights and weekends. Part-time or full-time hours are considered.
Requirements / Qualifications
* GCSE grade C or equivalent in English Language.
* Successfully achieve Care Certificate within 12 weeks of commencement in post.
* Desirable: Evidence of recent education e.g. NVQ or City & Guilds; Commitment to undertake the necessary training i.e. NVQ level 2 in Health Care or equivalent.
