Deliver a wide range of clinical procedures in the treatment room including wound assessment and management, dressing application and removal, injections (e.g., flu, travel vaccines), venipuncture, ECGs, and basic health screenings. Assist GPs and other healthcare professionals with minor surgical procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety throughout.
Undertake patient health checks Administer vaccinations and immunizations following national protocols and practice policies, including childhood and adult programs. Monitor and maintain stocks of clinical supplies, ensuring proper storage and expiry checks. Maintain infection control standards to comply with local and national guidelines, promoting safety. Provide health education and advice, promoting self-care and lifestyle changes where appropriate.
Accurately document patient interactions, treatments, and observations per NHS standards, ensuring confidentiality and data protection. Identify patients needing follow-up or referral and liaise with the wider practice team to coordinate care. Participate in clinical and team meetings, contributing to professional development and service improvements. Support practice-wide initiatives such as audits, vaccination campaigns, and quality improvement projects as directed by the practice manager or clinical lead.
