This role offers the support of a Medical Secretary and a Specialist Doctor, providing a supportive team environment.
As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to ensure clients receive holistic, person-centric care based on the recovery model. You will also provide high-quality clinical care within the hospital services.

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, your responsibilities will include:
* Taking clinical responsibility for patients, including multidisciplinary ward rounds, risk reviews, strategic reviews, and developing a therapeutic milieu.
* Fulfilling the role of Responsible Clinician for patients detained under the Mental Health Act (1983).
* Providing psychiatric perspectives to the multidisciplinary team regarding assessment, formulation, and treatment of patients.
* Contributing to management and clinical governance meetings and service strategy development.
* Participating in in-house training programmes and offering supervision to other team members, especially junior medical staff.
* Maintaining CPD and re-validation requirements as per the Royal College of Psychiatrists or relevant bodies.
* Being part of an on-call Responsible Clinician rota.
To be successful, you should:
* Be medically qualified, MRC Psych or equivalent.
* Be innovative with the ability to initiate corporate decisions.
* Have an understanding of current developments in psychiatry and mental health.
* Possess knowledge of change management, relevant legislation, and contemporary mental health issues, including contractual issues.
* Have previous consultant experience in a management role.
