Job Description

Electrical Engineering Manager (Assets)

Permanent

Location: Kent (Canterbury and Medway)

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000 per annum based on experience

An established organisation with a large, complex multi-site estate is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineering Manager to take ownership of electrical assets and maintenance delivery across its portfolio. This is a senior technical and leadership role offering real influence over compliance, safety, asset performance, and long-term maintenance strategy.

Reporting to the Head of Maintenance & Infrastructure, you will lead the operational delivery of all electrical maintenance services—both planned and reactive—ensuring statutory compliance, service continuity, and high levels of customer satisfaction across a diverse estate.

The Role

You will be responsible for the full spectrum of electrical maintenance activities, acting as the organisation’s subject matter expert for electrical systems and compliance. This includes oversight of statutory inspections, PPM regimes, reactive works, and contractor performance, all delivered in line with agreed SLAs and KPIs.

Key responsibilities include:

* Leading, managing, and developing an in-house electrical team (including approved electricians and support staff)
* Acting as Authorised Person (Electrical) and controlling safe systems of work, including permits and isolations
* Ensuring full compliance with electrical legislation, health & safety requirements, and governance standards
* Developing, maintaining, and continuously improving electrical PPM strategies within a CAFM environment
* Managing electrical maintenance budgets and ensuring compliance with procurement and financial regulations
* Overseeing specialist service contracts and supply chain performance
* Maintaining accurate statutory and asset records and producing technical and financial reports
* Providing expert advice to senior stakeholders and contributing to estate-wide maintenance and asset strategies

Essential requirements include:

* HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineering, or significant demonstrable industry experience
* Extensive hands-on experience of electrical building services within complex estates
* Detailed knowledge of statutory compliance, electrical safety, and the built environment
* Proven leadership and people management experience, including performance management
* Strong working knowledge of CAFM systems and statutory PPM management
* Experience managing and controlling maintenance budgets
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and report-writing skills
* Willingness to participate in an out-of-hours on-call rota

What’s on Offer

* 30 days annual leave plus bank holidays and organisational closure days
* Generous pension scheme
* Hybrid and flexible working arrangements
* Healthcare and wellbeing benefits
* Staff discounts and additional voluntary benefits

This is an excellent opportunity for an Electrical Engineering Manager or Electrical Asset Manager looking to take strategic ownership of a high-profile estate, where technical expertise, leadership, and proactive asset management are genuinely valued.
