Procurement Category Manager Reference number: Venn Group is currently working on an exciting opportunity with an NHS Organisation in Central London, seeking a commercially minded, dynamic and strategic procurement professional to join their team on Temp-to-Perm contract as the new Non-Clinical Category Lead.
Previous NHS experience is not essential for this role.
Job Title: Procurement Category Manager

Shift Pattern: Full time, Hybrid (3 Days in the office / week)
Develop and implement the category and procurement strategy for the Non-Clinical categories (IT, Estates, HR, and Professional Services) across Member Trusts
The lead on specific/allocated portfolio of sourcing categories and contribute significantly to the delivery of allocated procurement projects within key markets
Organise and develop market engagement and drive deeper understanding of member trust requirements and their conversion into viable commercial options
Undertake a large range of procurement projects (tendering) to achieve value added and cash releasing savings from service efficiencies (benefits) to the Member Trusts as well as service development to improve partnership profile and scope
Specialist and professional procurement advice to other Member Trust staff, procurement team members, directors and senior management of the Member Trusts
Identify opportunities within the Member Trusts and wider healthcare community for 'cross Trust’ collaborative procurements/ category management, and to build key relationships and forums to allow for this
Support and assist with the development and implementation of robust procurement procedures in line with best procurement practice
Ensure procurement compliance across all Member Trusts with UK procurement law and Member Trusts Standing Financial Instructions and Standing Orders in any procurement activity undertaken
For contributing to a wide range of external relationships, notably other NHS trusts, NHS Supply Chain, CCS, suppliers, consultants and Member Trust advisors
Have responsibility for providing support to Member Trusts divisions or departments on allocated category areas of procurement activity
Undertake additional tasks allocated by senior management
Possess extensive knowledge of UK procurement law, have demonstrable Procurement experience across large scale, complex procurements
Bring a commercial and analytical mindset, with a focus on cost efficiencies, value add, and cash releasing savings
Be an agile and dynamic team worker with the ability “hit the ground running” and contribute quickly and effectively at a senior level
