Join a dynamic service managing a growing and diverse portfolio of temporary accommodation including council owned stock, leased properties, hostels and nightly paid accommodation both within and outside the borough. This is a varied and hands on role focused on delivering high quality housing management and strong customer support to homeless households.
You will provide a proactive, customer focused service that ensures properties are well maintained, compliant, and that residents are supported to sustain their accommodation.
What you’ll be doing:
• Managing a diverse portfolio of temporary accommodation properties
• Delivering enhanced and proactive housing management to homeless households
• Ensuring properties remain safe, well maintained and fully health and safety compliant
• Supporting residents to maximise tenancy sustainment
• Assisting customers with Housing Benefit applications and ensuring rent accounts are correctly set up
• Monitoring rent collection and addressing arrears at an early stage
• Liaising with landlords and property providers to maintain strong working relationships
• Ensuring repair obligations are met and housing health and safety rating standards are maintained
• Managing tenancy breaches and taking appropriate enforcement action where required
• Providing a supportive, responsive and customer focused service at all times
