MPI Requires a Temporary Buyer (Part-Time) for our client based in Milton Keynes
Rate: GBP15.38 per hour PAYE
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 6 months
Working Hours: 20 hours per week, flexible working days/hours
An exciting opportunity for a Buyer to support the procurement function on a 6-month basis. The role holder will work to drive better delivery reliability, reduce DSI, and help implement strategic procurement strategies.
The role holder needs to be organized, structured, and proactive.
Main Duties:
1. Work closely with suppliers to ensure components are available for the Business Unit to operate efficiently.
2. Actively participate in meeting procurement KPIs (DSI, SLISC, WADPO, & PPI).
3. Manage procurement order books.
4. Make strategic procurement decisions.
5. Collaborate with the planning team to ensure timely arrival of components and materials.
6. Address supplier issues, working with the SQE to resolve supply problems.
7. Communicate current procurement status to relevant stakeholders.
8. Work with eProcurement to ensure prompt response to exception messages.
9. Participate in planning and execution of new projects.
10. Engage in business improvement activities (e.g., Lean, Kaizen).
11. Assist in the implementation of Kanban Box.
