Abatec are currently recruiting for a Highways Maintenance Supervisor to support highways operations in the Gloucester, Forest of Dean area. This is a full-time, hybrid position combining site presence with administrative and reporting responsibilities. As Highways Maintenance Supervisor You will be responsible for overseeing day-to-day operational delivery across highways maintenance activities, ensuring works are completed safely, on time, within budget and to contractual standards. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational oversight, effective stakeholder communication and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Key Responsibilities of Highways Maintenance Supervisor Supervise operational teams across highways and infrastructure works Plan, coordinate and monitor daily and weekly work schedules Allocate labour, plant and materials efficiently Ensure strict compliance with health, safety, environmental and quality standards Conduct site inspections and performance monitoring Liaise with local authority representatives and key stakeholders Prepare reports, maintain accurate records and support KPI delivery Resolve operational issues quickly to minimise disruption and risk Promote a positive safety and performance culture across the team About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Proven supervisory or team leadership experience within highways or infrastructure maintenance Strong working knowledge of highways regulations and industry best practice Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple workstreams Confident communication skills able to engage with operatives, senior management and clients Sound understanding of Health & Safety legislation within operational environments Practical problem-solving ability under operational pressure Relevant qualifications in construction management, civil engineering or related discipline (desirable) Whats on Offer Competitive salary package Hybrid working flexibility Long-term contract stability Opportunity to work on high-profile public infrastructure projects Career progression within a nationally recognised infrastructure services provider How to Apply If you are an experienced Supervisor with a background in highways or infrastructure maintenance and are looking for your next challenge in Gloucestershire, we would like to hear from you.
