I’m working with a leading building services contractor who specialise in large‑scale prefabricated and energy‑focused M&E solutions delivered across the UK & Ireland. Due to ongoing growth, they are seeking an experienced Mechanical Contracts Manager to join their expanding team in Mallusk.
This is a brilliant opportunity to take ownership of major M&E projects while working closely with in‑house design,mercial and project management teams who use the latest Revit, AutoCAD and MEP 3D software. The role offers stability, progression and the benefit of working on local projects, meaning no extensive travel.
Your new role
You will manage project delivery teams to ensure mechanical works and associated M&E installations arepleted safely, efficiently, and in line with programme targets. You’ll act as a key point of contact for clients, lead progress meetings, oversee procurement, and ensure all project documentation, cost tracking and quality standards are maintained throughout.
1. Lead and develop mechanical project teams to ensure successful project delivery
2. Attend client meetings both online and on‑site and maintain strong working relationships
3. Set clear objectives for managers and site teams to meet key programme milestones
4. Ensure drawings, specifications and orders are agreed before worksmence
5. Oversee project documentation including programmes, trackers and lessons‑learned reports
6. Manage procurement of plant and equipment in line with spec and client expectations
7. Forecast project spend and monitor costs with themercial team throughout delivery
8. Assess labour and subcontractor requirements to meet installation demands
9. Vet and appoint subcontractors (fixed price PO or JCT) with support frommercial
10. Support monthly valuations, claims, variations andmercial reporting
11. Chair weekly internal project progress meetings and monthly management reviews
12. Ensure O&M manuals, as‑built and all certifications arepleted ahead of handover
13. Drive high safety and quality standards across all site teams
14. Assist the Operations Manager in forecasting future resource needs
What you'll need to succeed
15. Previous experience in a Mechanical Contracts Manager or Mechanical Project Management role
16. Recognised Mechanical/Plumbing qualification
17. Able to manage multiple large‑scale projects (£3m–£10m)
18. Hands‑on experience in mechanical/plumbing or building services
19. Strongmunicator with excellent attention to detail
20. Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office
21. Professional, reliable and able to take ownership of your workload
