The Role
We are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist / Manual Miller & Turner to join the team. This is a hands-on position suited to a skilled machinist who is confident operating manual milling machines and capable of working on lathes when required. You will be responsible for producing high-quality components across a range of materials, ensuring accuracy and consistency at all times.
Key Responsibilities
1. Operate manual milling machines to produce precision-engineered components
2. Use manual lathes as required
3. Machine parts from both ferrous and non-ferrous materials
4. Work with materials including mild steel, stainless steel, copper, and occasional plastics
5. Read and interpret engineering drawings
6. Maintain high standards of quality, accuracy, and workmanship
7. Collaborate with colleagues to meet production targets
Working Hours
8. Monday to Thursday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
9. Friday: 8:00am – 1:00pm (early finish)
What We’re Looking For
10. Proven experience as a Conventional Machinist / Manual Miller & Turner
11. Experience operating manual lathes
12. Ability to read and work from engineering drawings
13. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
14. A team-oriented mindset, with the ability to thrive in a small, supportive environment
