This is what you'll actually do!As a Hygiene Shift Manager, you will take full accountability for the hygiene team on the night shift. You'll be responsible for ensuring the completion of all planned and reactive hygiene tasks, maintaining food safety and audit readiness, and leading a high-performing team to meet operational and hygiene excellence.You'll manage training, administration, and personnel across the shift, ensuring compliance with standards for pest control, waste segregation, laundry, and amenities. You'll be responsible for supporting audit preparation, planned or unplanned, so attention to detail and a proactive mindset are critical.You'll also help upskill the team in deep cleaning procedures, complete regular hygiene and food safety audits, and maintain clear communication across shifts and with the wider site leadership. Building strong relationships with other functions, especially Operations and Engineering, is essential to ensure seamless collaboration and shared
* Experienced in managing hygiene or support teams, preferably within food manufacturing
* A strong leader with a track record of coaching, developing, and empowering teams
* Knowledgeable in food safety and hygiene standards, including audit preparation (e.g., BRC)
* Pragmatic, self-sufficient, and comfortable making decisions under pressure
* Strong communicator with the confidence to challenge positively and build cross-functional relationships
* Detail-oriented and proactive, with excellent organisation and time management skills
* IT literate, proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
