Spire London East Hospital are looking for a Bank Pre-operative Assessment Administrator to join their team. As Pre-operative Assessment Administrator you will ensure the provision and maintenance of an efficient patient administration service within the Pre-Assessment department.

Working Hours: Ad hoc bank shifts to cover sickness and annual leave.
08:00-18:00 Mon-Fri.

Duties and responsibilities
1. Forward planning from the Clinic and TCI lists to ensure that minimum data set (Medical Records, Booking Form, GP referral, GP clinical summary are on site and available for the patient’s pre-operative assessment appointment and the date of admission.
2. With the help of the pre-operative administration and clinical team ensuring all short dated bookings and day patients are captured and minimum data set (Medical Records, Booking Form, GP referral, GP clinical summary are available as above.
3. Ensuring absolute accuracy with notes, associated clinical pathways, labels, wristband and all other mandatory paperwork as per check lists.
4. Maintain hospital and departmental electronic and manual filing systems accurately.
5. Use track file to receive and return medical notes to all departments.
6. All patient notes and associated paperwork to be on the ward within the agreed period.
7. Provide and receive patient information, ensuring that all patient information is provided, received and recorded in accordance with the Data Protection Act and Spire policies.
8. Undertake any training or development as required to acquire skills and knowledge to undertake role competently
9. Assistance with capturing ePOA questionnaires by contacting all patients with completion rate <100%.
10. Booking of mini clinic appointments
11. Capturing GP summaries for all POA patients and file in medical records ahead of POA.
12. Compiling patient information packs ready to be given out in mini clinic.
13. Filing all loose documentation in medical records prior to going to next department.
14. Undertake necessary filing and printing for POA Nurses.
15. Preparing PROMS information pack and supporting patients to complete while they are in the hospital attending mini clinic and validating all PROMS data online ( matching up SAP)
16. Carry out any other duty that reasonably falls within the general nature and level of responsibility of the post.
17. Contacting patients on NFC pathway, informing Consultant and Anaesthetist and arranging mini clinic if required for NFC patients.
Who we're looking for
18. Has previously come from an Administrator role with a track record of successful delivery and customer service experience.
19. Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships, both internally and externally
20. Strong focus on delivering and meeting customer expectations
21. Confident telephone manner with the ability to communicate with a wide range of customers at all levels
22. The ability to work effectively as part of a team
23. Numerate and literate
24. High degree of accuracy and a methodical approach to workload
25. IT literate and a competent user of the MS Office suite of products
26. Able to work under pressure and to tight deadlines, with good organisational skills
27. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
