Job Summary The Estates & Facility (E&F) department operates in a highly responsive, service-orientated environment where teamwork and communication, regulatory and statutory compliance, budgetary control, performance management and business continuity are key to its success. In this role you will contribute to the strategic development of the estate, including the formulation of NHSBT s Estates Strategy, through proactive engagement with colleagues and customers. By managing the effective and efficient provision of a wide range of E&F services at the blood centre, in line with national standards to meet the needs of customers. The blood centre produces a major part and in emergencies up to one half of the country s blood supply, making the continuous operation of the facility critical to the provision of services to hospitals and patients. Being part of a small proactive team of NHSBT staff and contractors who are customer focussed and have a can-do attitude, enabling colleagues across the organisation to carry out their duties efficiently and effectively. Manage and develop managers, administrators, receptionists, technicians and support services staff. About You Experience and Knowledge Demonstrable facilities management experience/technical knowledge in the service environment at senior level. Proven experience in managing contractors. Proven people management skills and experience. Previous budgetary responsibilities in a service environment. Proven ability to work across functions and promote teamwork. Knowledge and implementation of Health and Safety regulations. Proven ability to identify and introduce best practice in all aspects of Facilities management including administration, maintenance both hard and soft services. Qualifications and Training A professional qualification or degree in Facilities Management, or equivalent experience. An MBA or Masters degree in Facilities Management or a related subject (desirable) Membership of a professional Facilities Management body (desirable). Demonstrate commitment to own Continued Professional Development (CPD) Possess a valid driving licence allowing the holder to drive in the UK. (desirable).
