An exciting opportunity has arisen for a junior doctor (s) to join our dedicated medical team at St Christophers, on a 6-12-month fixed term contract. The post holder will primarily be based on the Inpatient Unit (IPU) and gain experience in specialist palliative care for patients with malignant and non-malignant conditions. In addition, experience of community palliative care will be available for the right applicant. The post includes non-resident on-calls, with appropriate supervision, on a 1 in 6 rota.

Your new role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a resident doctor (s) to join our dedicated medical team at St Christophers, on a 12-month fixed term contract. The post holder will primarily be based on the Inpatient Unit (IPU) and gain experience in specialist palliative care for patients with malignant and non-malignant conditions. In addition, experience of community palliative care will be available for the right applicant. The post includes non-resident on-calls, with appropriate supervision, on a 1 in 6 rota.
There are ample opportunities for the postholder to be involved in teaching and Quality improvement/research projects.
Although this is a service rather than training post, the clinical and educational opportunities available offer an excellent grounding for applications to a specialty training rotation in Palliative Medicine. The post also offers valuable experience for those intending to incorporate Palliative Medicine into a future career in General Practice or a hospital specialty.
Applicants must be fully registered with the General Medical Council and have Indemnity insurance with a recognised provider.
