Overview
As our new Head of Healthcare, your responsibilities will vary. Some of your duties will include:
* Provide management of the healthcare services on site, with overall responsibility for delivering a highly functional clinical service, within agreed budgets
* Maintain the strategic direction of the service, and deliver on agreed contractual requirements and targets from NHS England
* Lead, develop and motivate your team to deliver the best service possible
* Work closely with senior management within the prison, as well as the finance business partner and regional manager

Experience and qualifications

* Clinical qualification with relevant registration – ideally a Registered Adult Nurse with valid NMC pin
* Inclusive leadership approach embedding a culture of continuous progression and innovation
* Significant experience leading multi-disciplinary teams
* Experience as a CQC registered manager, or equivalent registered body
* Experience managing multifaceted budgets
* Experience of client management or meeting commissioner expectations

Role details
We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Healthcare to join the team at HMP Lancaster Farms, a Category C male prison located on the outskirts of Lancaster, with capacity of around 550. You will be joining a well staffed and fully integrated healthcare team managing a team of around 40, working across Primary Care, Mental Health and Substance Misuse. This is a unique and rare opportunity to manage the healthcare department by leading on, and maintaining the service as agreed with NHS England.
Salary: This is a full-time role offering a salary between £53,755 - £60,504 per annum depending on experience + £4,000 car allowance + 10% discretionary bonus.
