As a Barclays Senior Data Business Analyst, you will act within a team of data partners and analysts and be responsible for delivering an evolving capability within the Chief Data Office (CDO) focused on meeting data quality and control standards across multiple business areas. This role offers an opportunity to enhance project delivery experience and investigate detailed business challenges across data sets, operational processes, controls, and applications.

We are currently implementing a hybrid working environment, allowing colleagues to work part of the time at home and part in the office. The specific working pattern can vary between 20% to 60% in-office time, depending on the role and personal circumstances, with flexibility to discuss options with the hiring manager.
What will you be doing?
1. Investigating data to understand its availability, meaning, and suitability for use within the function.
2. Documenting relevant business processes and identifying opportunities to streamline activities, reduce duplication, or redesign processes.
3. Defining requirements and specifications for data remediation efforts to meet regulatory commitments, risk controls, and business objectives.
4. Delivering impact assessments and business cases to senior stakeholders to secure support for proposed recommendations.
5. Managing designated Risk, Finance, and Treasury Data Domains, proactively engaging to improve data quality and controls.
6. Overseeing governance of mandatory metadata to ensure accuracy and completeness within the Barclay Data Catalogue, in line with Data Standards.
7. Owning Data Council and CDO Forum submissions, managing stakeholders and supporting data domain working groups.
8. Planning medium- and long-term strategies to support data maturity transformation aligned with business strategy.
What we’re looking for:
1. Experience in business and data analysis within complex end-to-end architectures.
2. Understanding of data and process operating models, process re-engineering, and ownership.
3. Ability to work independently and proactively with limited supervision.
4. Experience in data management, risk, and controls within a financial services organization at a senior level.
Skills that will help you in the role:
1. Knowledge of Risk, Finance, or Treasury business domains.
2. Experience with regulatory environments such as Basel, BCBS 239.
3. Process improvement or Lean Six Sigma certification.
4. Project management qualifications (e.g., PRINCE2, PMI).
