Job Description Chemical Process Operator Full time Derby What you will be doing: An outstanding opportunity has arisen for a Chemical Process Operator to join Rolls-Royce Rotatives at the Derby Facility. Working as part of a high performing team, this role will focus on the chemical processing of Compressor shafts, discs and drum assemblies, working to instructions, specifications & standards. As the facility is targeting minimum standards in lean techniques, the role will include integration and delivery of Rolls-Royce Production System (RRPS) tasks which include tasks such as lean Manufacturing, Asset Care, Visual Management and Waste Reduction. The successful candidate will preferably have experience in an Aerospace environment, be self-motivated and be able to work with little supervision as part of an integrated high performing team. Responsibilities: When trained, the role requires that the chemical process operator shall: Have the skills and knowledge to operate all processes, including, wash, descale and etch of all production parts and daily maintenance of equipment. Physical ability in line with manual handling will be required to carry out vat maintenance I.E. make up and top up and disposal of chemical tanks during their operation. Operation of the CAPP MES work booking system and have the skills and knowledge to conduct asset care checks in accordance with the applicable process standard. Be capable of providing the necessary guidance and/or supervision to trainees and work to the relevant Rolls-Royce Quality & Health, Safety & Environmental Procedures. Undertake basic housekeeping tasks, including 5s activity and process compliance. Involvement in Improvement activity and Qualified in lifting and slinging, Manual handling & Chemical first aid awareness. Responsible for delivery of all the components associated with the team’s accountabilities, the successful applicant must be able to work on their own initiative.
