Mechanical Design Engineer – Luton Salary: Negotiable An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Mechanical Design Engineer to join an established engineering team based in Luton. You’ll play a key role in designing and developing technically sound solutions to meet customer requirements while contributing to continuous improvement across performance, quality, and cost. Key Responsibilities: * Develop detailed CAD models, assemblies, and technical drawings using SolidWorks. * Produce engineering calculations, technical reports, and documentation to support projects. * Contribute to the design of pressure vessels (ASME VIII, PED), and apply GD&T in line with BS 8888. * Maintain and manage parts and assemblies within the ERP system (Epicor). * Support cross-functional teams and offer technical guidance to internal departments and customers. * Ensure compliance with company, customer, and regulatory standards. * Drive innovation in design, materials, and manufacturing techniques. Requirements: * Degree-qualified in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent. * Proficient in SolidWorks and experienced in self-checking CAD outputs. * Familiar with engineering standards and specifications, including BS 8888 and GD&T. * Hands-on knowledge of machining/fabrication techniques and pressure vessel design. * Experience working with ERP systems, ideally Epicor. * Detail-oriented, organised, and self-motivated.
