Lead Project Engineer responsible for delivering telecoms work packages on rail projects. The role oversees all engineering lifecycle stages, ensuring compliance with standards, safety, and client expectations. It often includes acting as Project Engineering Manager, coordinating multidisciplinary teams, managing technical risk, and ensuring smooth system integration across suppliers and stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Lead engineering delivery or act as PEM on medium‑scale projects.
Produce and implement engineering management plans.
Manage full lifecycle engineering activities through to commissioning.
Ensure adherence to standards, technical specs, and safety frameworks.
Oversee technical interfaces and drive effective system integration.
Represent engineering to clients, suppliers, and internal teams.
Skills & Experience
Degree in Electrical/Electronic/Systems Engineering or equivalent.
Strong experience in SCADA, SISS, control systems, or major integration projects.
Proven end‑to‑end engineering lifecycle experience.
Background as a Work Package Manager, technical lead, or PEM.
Good understanding of rail infrastructure, installation constraints, and assurance processes.
Desirable: exposure to telecoms, M&E, software‑heavy systems, or multidisciplinary integration
