JOB DESCRIPTION FITTER/WELDER/ASSEMBLER LEVEL A REPORTS TO: MANUFACTURING SUPERVISOR FAB SHOP DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Level A is the highest level for the Fitter/Welder/Assembler job category. Each Level A person is expected to meet the following requirements. Perform open table set-ups Braze, Tig, Weld Aluminum work with different materials (Alloys) Perform sub-arc welding Weld all positions with .045 flux core wire Weld with .035, .045 hard wire and 1/16 flux core wire Capable of some tig welding Fixture set-ups and basic open table set-ups Ability to read and understand complex blueprints with weld symbols and written work orders that accompany every job Cut parts from blueprints and detail Possess the math skills to calculate angles, centerlines, and other equations required to accomplish fit and weld tasks Be able to use a torch set Be able to build girders without help from an experienced persons on set-up of girders Be able to assemble cranes Must be able to fill out daily time slips accurately for labor reporting purposes Must clean-up around machine and work area everyday Must do routine maintenance as instructed by supervisor Responsible for manufacturing parts within the routed time frame, or notifying the supervisor if the work order time and/or sequence of operation on the work order is incorrect Must have own tools that accommodate set-up, welding, cleaning and measuring for all phases of operation. Must provide own helmet, lenses and all hand tools required to accomplish tasks. On occasion other job duties as assigned by your supervisor.
