Dear Parents and Carers,
Re: Invitation to Volunteer for PTFA Roles
We are writing to invite you to consider becoming actively involved in the Friends of Torrington Bluecoat Parents, Teachers and Friends Association (PTFA). The PTFA plays a vital role in supporting our school by organising events, raising funds, and strengthening the sense of community among families and staff.
We are currently seeking volunteers to join the PTFA in a variety of roles for the coming academic year, including:
* Chair – To lead the PTFA, coordinate meetings, and act as a key point of contact for the school.
* Treasurer – To manage the PTFA's finances, including budgeting, record-keeping, and reporting.
* Secretary – To take minutes at meetings, help with communications, and support planning.
* Event Volunteers – To assist with the planning and running of fundraising and community events throughout the year.
Whether you are interested in taking on a named role or supporting events on an ad hoc basis, your involvement would be greatly appreciated. No prior experience is necessary—just enthusiasm and a willingness to get involved. Full support and handover will be provided where needed.
If you would like to apply or find out more, please request an application pack by contacting us at - The pack includes a role description and further details about what each position involves. The deadline for expressions of interest is 18 September 2025
Thank you again for considering this opportunity to support our school community—we would love to have you involved
Warm regards,
Sallie Gaskin
