We are seeking enthusiastic Specialist Practitioners (School Nursing) to join our forward-thinking Dorset 0-19 CYP Public Health Teams. This role is based in the Dorchester and West Dorset locality within the 0-19 CYP Public Health Team, located in Dorchester. It is a permanent part-time position of 30 hours per week, year-round, with no weekend work, some hybrid working, and flexible hours. Travel across Dorchester and West Dorset areas is required, along with presence in teams and schools.

As a Specialist Practitioner, you will lead and participate in the School Nursing core programme, underpinned by the Healthy Child Programme and high impact areas. You will work in partnership with children, young people, families, the Local Authority, Early Intervention Services, Children's Services, Schools, and other Healthcare providers.
You will manage members of the 0-19 team effectively, delegate within the skill mix team, and share knowledge and skills across the team. Your responsibilities include assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating specialist interventions and care packages for your caseload, promoting independence and working within a multidisciplinary team.
Continuously develop your clinical knowledge, skills, and competence through advanced educational programmes.
Effective communication in verbal and written forms is essential, especially when exchanging complex, sensitive, or contentious information, utilizing de-escalation, mediation, resolution, and professional Duty of Candour.
An Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for employment, which the Trust will cover. Applicants subscribed to the DBS update service can present a valid DBS certificate instead of a new check.
