We are seeking enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to work in an SEN school in Oldbury, supporting students aged 11–19 with Autism and SEMH. If you are adaptable, dedicated, and enjoy helping pupils succeed, this role is perfect for you!
Your Role
As a Teaching Assistant, you will:
* Support teachers in delivering engaging and interactive lessons.
* Provide targeted help to individual pupils and small groups.
* Offer both academic and pastoral support to create a positive, inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities:
* Classroom Support: Assist teachers in running lessons effectively.
* 1:1 & Group Work: Reinforce learning objectives with individual pupils or small groups.
* Inclusive Practice: Support pupils of all abilities and backgrounds, particularly students with Autism and SEMH.
* Progress Monitoring: Track pupil progress and give feedback to teachers.
* Classroom Management: Promote positive behaviour and maintain a focused learning environment.
* General Assistance: Help with classroom setup, preparing resources, and administrative tasks.
What We’re Looking For
* Experience: Previous experience in a school setting is desirable.
* Qualifications: Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
* DBS: Must be registered on the DBS Update Service or willing to undergo a new check.
* Skills: Strong communication, patience, and ability to build positive relationships.
* Flexibility: Adaptable to different classrooms and learning needs.
* Teamwork: Collaborative and proactive in supporting teachers and school staff.
