About the roleWe are looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Finance Systems Administrator. You must have knowledge and experience of Finance and Finance systems and dealing with users of the systems ensuring that they have awareness of the functionality of these systems. This opportunity for a career minded individual to develop within a framework and progress through this career graded role, it would suit someone with strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, confident using Microsoft Office and a strong mix of finance and finance systems knowledge.
The Finance Systems team is within Financial Management, reporting to the Finance Systems Manager. This role is key in supporting users and systems administration tasks, ensuring the smooth operation of our financial systems, that processes are robust and supports (to some degree) through these systems everybody in the Council, whether this be raising requisitions / sales orders, receipting income, taking payments or providing the ability to interrogate management / financial information. Key Responsibilities
1. Provide first-line support to internal and external users on finance systems related queries and issues.
2. Setting up and closing users accounts, roles, chart of account codes and reviewing permissions, manage system security
3. Accurately input and maintain financial data in our systems.
4. Monitor shared inboxes and respond to queries in a timely and professional manner.
5. Support the financial management team with monthly accounting period close down / opening.
6. Assist with the Maintenance of finance systems security and support compliance with internal policies and regulations.
7. Support the finance systems team with administrative tasks, UAT and ad hoc projects.

Essential requirements:
8. Knowledge of web-based Finance Systems and providing support to users in a large organisation
9. Understanding the importance of maintaining users access in finance systems, knowledge of data manipulation techniques, data querying and report writing
10. Experience of providing high quality advice and support to internal and external customers on a wide range of complex system, and financial related queries.
11. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office
12. Good communication skills
13. Analytical thinking and problem solving, when reviewing and refining existing processes
14. Experience of working to strict deadlines
15. Experience of working with stakeholders outside of Finance
