You will be working in the infrastructure OU based in Watford where our team brings design, build and refurbishment excellence to complex civil engineering projects nationwide – combining technical expertise with a passion for creating lasting value for people and places.
We are currently looking for a Commercial Manager - Energy Sector who will commercially lead a project (or multiple smaller projects) in the Skanska Infrastructure Energy Sector at various stages of the project lifecycle, both pre-contract and during project mobilisation and delivery.
As the Commercial Manager - Energy Sector, you will:
* Formulate commercial strategies to win work and provide a platform for profitable delivery.
* Lead the project commercial team and serve as the link between commercial and other project functions such as the delivery team, procurement and finance.
* Seek to agree optimal contract terms with the customer, focusing on de‑risking Skanska’s position and maximising opportunities.
* Monitor and manage the procurement procedures for subcontracts, securing the right deal for Skanska and ensuring that scope, pricing and programme information is aligned.
* Develop estimates and work closely with the delivery, estimating, planning and technical teams to produce robust pricing submissions.
* Undertake line management responsibilities for direct report staff.
We are looking for:
* A strategic commercial mindset with an interest in maximising commercial results of the project whilst focusing on customers.
* Experience of managing commercial teams.
* Experience of working on infrastructure projects of £30m+ and preparing pricing information to develop into price submissions to the customer.
* Good working knowledge of standard forms of contract such as NEC4 and a good understanding of construction law matters.
* Degree or equivalent in a commercial related subject.
