Main purpose of job:
To support UK government understanding of economic issues in Jamaica (and wider region) by delivering economic reporting.
Roles and responsibilities:
1. Provide economic reporting and analysis on Jamaica and the broader Caribbean region in liaison with the Political & Comms team, Development team and the Economic Adviser.
2. Highlight and communicate key economic statistics, news and events in a concise and timely manner, working with the Political Secretary and Economic Adviser to understand and communicate their wider significance.
3. Keep (excel) economic database up to data and accessible on Microsoft Teams.
4. Support Economic Adviser with reviewing any key Multilateral Development Bank (MDB) reports and key regional economic reports.
5. Assist with planning and logistics for economic missions, other visits and areas of work involving the Political & Communications team.

6. Undergraduate degree in majority economics
7. The ability to read and interpret data accurately
8. Intermediate to advanced computer literacy across all MS platforms and other data platforms, including excel, with the ability to learn new computer software quickly
9. Excellent planning and administrative skills
10. The ability to work flexibly within the team and occasionally work remotely if required
11. Excellent written and oral communications skills
12. Good Interpersonal skills
13. Ability to work as part of a larger, virtual team
