About Spark2Life Spark2Life is a community-driven charity operating across London, Kent, and Buckinghamshire. Founded in 2006, our mission is toprevent harm and promote life, with a focus on reducing youth violence, addressing racial disproportionality, and preventing school exclusions. We deliver programmes such asmentoring, casework, detached work, advocacy, counselling, andawarenesscampaignsto support young people and their families.
Role Purpose
TheCasework Mentorplays a vital role in engaging with vulnerable youth and young adults (ages 1130) who are at risk of, or already involved in, criminal activity and serious youth violence. You will be part of a passionate team helping individuals create positive life changes through structured support, coaching, and advocacy.
Key Responsibilities
Manage a caseload of up to 15 individuals involved with the Youth Justice System or Probation services.
Deliver tailored 1:1 mentoring sessions as aCasework Mentor, focused on behaviour, values, and goal-setting.
Support clients with education, training, employment access, and personal development.
Work across varied environments: in the community, at home, in schools, and occasionally in prison.
Maintain accurate records in Spark2Lifes case management system and provide detailed progress reports.
Liaise with professionals and attend multi-agency meetings.
Ensure safeguarding, GDPR compliance, and support service monitoring and evaluation.
Person Specification
Essential Skills & Experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Experience engaging with multi-agency partners.
Capable of mentoring or coaching young people from challenging backgrounds.
Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety.
Self-starter with good organisation and teamwork skills.
Confident using ICT systems for administration and communication.
Desirable
Background in working with vulnerable or high-risk individuals.
Ability to plan and facilitate group mentoring sessions.
Willingness to travel (driving license and access to a car preferred).
Passion for the mission of Spark2Life and alignment with Christian values.
