As the UK Sales Manager, you will lead, inspire, and develop a high-performing team of Account Managers to consistently exceed sales targets and deliver outstanding business results. You will set clear objectives, provide ongoing coaching, and ensure the effective execution of Dräger’s sales strategy within the industrial sector. You will collaborate with senior leadership, product, marketing and engineering teams to identify growth opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and drive sustainable, long-term success.
Responsibilities
* Provide direct-line management of the UK Safety (Industry) sales team.
* Recruit, onboard, and develop account managers as required.
* Lead, coach, and develop team members through field visits, in-field coaching, and structured development plans.
* Conduct ongoing feedback reviews, manage performance per company policy, and drive professional upskilling aligned with sales competencies.
* Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture in line with the “We Lead” behavioural framework.
* Identify knowledge gaps and deliver targeted product training to enhance team expertise and performance.
* Set and deliver the annual sales budget and targets; ensure consistent achievement of financial commitments.
* Develop and execute a clear sales plan aligned with Dräger’s strategy and translate it into measurable tactics.
* Identify and pursue key growth opportunities with Business Development Managers.
* Take strategic ownership of major opportunities and drive long-term account development.
* Present accurate, data-driven sales plans, forecasts, and funnel updates to senior management.
* Collaborate with national and regional BDM teams to achieve regional targets.
* Ensure accurate use of CRM, Power BI, and reporting tools; monitor ROI on activities.
* Ensure compliance with expense management, CRM standards, and sales excellence.
* Build and maintain relationships with key external stakeholders and strategic accounts to drive growth.
* Foster cross-departmental collaboration with Marketing, Engineering, and other functions; align strategies with initiatives.
* Provide clear, consistent communication of priorities, goals, and progress to the team.
* Facilitate quarterly, biweekly, and monthly team meetings and 1-1s.
Qualifications & Skills
* University degree or equivalent (desirable).
* Leadership and management qualification (desirable).
* Marketing qualification (desirable).
* Relevant senior sales experience and first-line management experience.
* Knowledge of the safety industry and key competitors.
* Strategic thinking with familiarity of strategy tools; creativity and problem-solving skills.
* Strong networking, collaboration, negotiation, and customer-orientation skills.
* Experience with market research and business management; ability to develop and execute marketing programs.
