Our client is a privately owned residential developer with an excellent reputation for delivering high-quality traditional new build housing schemes across the Home Counties. With strong financial backing, a robust pipeline, and a commitment to design excellence, they are now seeking an experienced Technical Manager to join the business at a key stage of growth.
The Role
The Technical Manager will take ownership of a 50-unit traditional build housing development on the Hertfordshire / Cambridgeshire border, overseeing all technical aspects from design development through to delivery on site.
You’ll work closely with internal teams and external consultants to ensure the smooth coordination of drawings, specifications, and build information — while having a genuine influence on the upfront design, feasibility, and planning of future schemes.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the technical coordination of the 50-unit traditional housing scheme, ensuring design and construction information is delivered accurately and on time.
* Work collaboratively with land, design, and commercial teams during feasibility and planning stages to optimise site layouts and technical solutions.
* Manage consultants and design teams through detailed design and build stages.
* Ensure all drawings and technical information meet quality, cost, and buildability standards.
* Support site and project teams to resolve technical queries efficiently.
* Contribute to the upfront design direction and drive continuous improvement in technical processes.
About You
* Proven experience as a Technical Manager or Senior Technical Coordinator within a housebuilding or residential development environment.
* Strong understanding of traditional build construction, NHBC standards, and UK building regulations.
* Confident managing external consultants and internal stakeholders.
* Commercially aware with a design-led mindset.
* Ambitious and motivated to play a key role in shaping the technical function of a growing developer.
